CALL FOR ABSTRACTS  
GENERAL ABSTRACT SUBMISSION ORAL PRESENTATION

The Interventional Radiology Society of Australasia Executive in conjunction with the Annual Scientific Meeting Organising Committee, would like to invite submission of abstracts, on original work, for oral presentation at IRSA’s Annual Scientific meeting taking place in Brisbane,  Australia on 20  - 22 July 2026.

All successful abstracts will be published in the Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology (JMIRO).

​

Submission of abstracts are due for submission by 29 May 2026.

​

Only shortlisted abstracts will be invited for inclusion at the Annual Scientific Meeting and will be expected to attend in person.

​

Abstracts not accepted for oral presentation will be considered for an e-poster presentation but will not be submitted to JMIRO and are ineligible for the respective prizes.

​

​Applicants are expected to be informed of the acceptance results by 15June 2026.

​

Terms and conditions

​

  • Abstracts must not exceed 400 words. (This limit applies to the main body of the abstract only and excludes the abstract title, authors, affiliations, and references). 

  • The abstract title should be short and informative. Key words should be listed below the main body of the abstract. 

  • All presenting authors must include a one-page summary CV to be uploaded at the time of submission

  • Short listing of submissions will be made by members of the IRSA Executive. 

  • Judging will be conducted at the ASM by two judges appointed by IRSA. The judges’ decision will be final. 

  • The winner of the prize will be expected to attend the Final ASM Dinner event at the IRSA ASM to receive their prize. 

  • The prize is non-transferrable.

  •  If none of the submitted abstracts achieve the required standard, the prize may not be awarded.
