CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

The Interventional Radiology Society of Australasia Executive in conjunction with the Annual Scientific Meeting Organising Committee, would like to invite submission of abstracts from RANZCR accredited Registrar and/or IR Fellows, on original work, for consideration at the IRSA Annual Scientific meeting taking place in Queenstown from 09 – 11 August 2022.  

The prize is jointly offered by IRSA and CIRSE and includes –

  • Free registration to the CIRSE 2022 Congress

  • Ticket for the CIRSE Party at the Congress

  • return economy flight and hotel accommodation.

In case CIRSE 2022 can only take place as an online meeting you will receive a free congress ticket to attend virtually.

Submission of abstracts can be made using the form button below and are due for submission by 24 June 2022. 

Only shortlisted abstracts will be invited for presentation at the Annual Scientific Meeting.           

 

Applicants are expected to be informed of the acceptance results by 1 July 2022.

Terms and conditions

  • Eligible applicants must be current accredited RANZCR radiology registrars or IR fellows residing in Australia and New Zealand. Applicants must still be a registrar or IR fellow at the time of the presentation at the IRSA ASM.

  • Abstracts must not exceed 400 words. (This limit applies to the main body of the abstract only and excludes the abstract title, authors, affiliations, and references).

  • The abstract title should be short and informative. Key words should be listed below the main body of the abstract.

  • All presenting authors must include a one-page summary CV. 

  • Short listing of submissions will be made by members of the IRSA Executive.

  • Judging will be conducted at the ASM by two judges appointed by IRSA. The judges’ decision will be final.

  • The winner of the prize will be expected to attend the Final ASM Dinner event at the IRSA ASM to receive their prize.

  • The prize must be taken in 2022.

  • The prize is non-transferrable and may not be taken in cash value.

  • Travel and accommodation arrangements will be made by IRSA and CIRSE; there will be no reimbursement or part-payment for travel or accommodation arrangements made by the winner.

  • The prize does not cover visa costs, meals, travel insurance, transportation (other than a return economy flight) and other incidental costs.

  • If none of the submitted abstracts achieve the required standard, the prize may not be awarded.
