AngioCT: Revolutionising Interventional Radiology (Canon Medical)

Workshop details:

Professor Tay’s workshop will discuss the utility of AngioCT in driving new procedures and treatment pathways in Interventional Radiology.

The workshop format will be a presentation of case studies demonstrating how the AngioCT system can simplify and streamline the most complex procedures, and what clinical practice looks like at Singapore General Hospital where this technology is used routinely.
 

Dr Tay is currently the Head of the Vascular and Interventional Radiology Department at Singapore General Hospital and Deputy Head of the Singhealth Duke NUS Vascular Centre. He is Clinical Professor at the Duke NUS Graduate Medical School Singapore and Clinical Associate Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in National University of Singapore. 

Dr Tay is the immediate Past President of the College of Radiologists Singapore and the current Secretary General of the Asia Pacific Society of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology.

Dr Andrew Wigham is a Consultant Interventional and Diagnostic Radiologist practising at Oxford University Hospitals NHS trust and Wexham Park Hospital. Having qualified from Imperial College School of Medicine in 2002, he trained in Interventional Radiology at the Royal Free Hospital, London. His special interests include the imaging and treatment of chronic venous insufficiency; intravascular ultrasound for the assessment of venous and arterial disease; imaging of thoracic outlet syndrome; vascular access, including arm mini-port insertion; hepatobiliary imaging and intervention, including TIPSS, hepatic embolisation, long term ascites drainage and trans-jugular liver biopsy.

Each workshop will take an in-depth look at all approaches and novel techniques available to IR’s when treating Hypervascular Processes. Questions throughout the workshop will be welcome.

Dr. Sandeep Bagla is a Vascular Interventional Radiologist and Founder/CEO of IR Centers, a network partner of Prostate, Ortho and Hemorrhoid Centers USA. He has been in academic private practice for 15 years and pioneered novel embolization therapies in the United States including Prostatic Artery Embolization, Musculoskeletal and Hemorrhoid Embolization. He has authored more than 100 publications, including the textbook of PAE, and the Society of Interventional Radiology national standards practice guidelines. Dr. Bagla is most passionate about the advancement and development of the IR field through collaboration, mentorship, and research.

Dr. Tummala recently joined Inari Medical as VP of Medical Affairs. Prior to this, he was in private practice as an Interventional Radiologist with Lakeland Vascular Institute, Florida. He specialized in VTE treatments & complex deep vein interventions. He is passionate about VTE, PAD & dialysis interventions. He was an invited speaker at several medical conferences. He is striving to advance the field with innovation and make positive impact on patient lives.

Dr Suhrid Lodh

 

Dr Jules Catt EBIR is an Interventional Radiologist at Liverpool and Prince of Wales Public Hospitals and various private hospitals across Sydney. He specialises in minimally invasive image-guided procedures and endovascular treatment and has a particular interest in the fields of venous disease, interventional oncology and embolisation therapies. He is a leader in prostate artery embolisation and together with his colleagues and team has developed one of the largest PAE case series in the Asia-Pacific region.

 

Dr Whitley obtained his medical degree from the University of Cape Town in 2004. He subsequently relocated to Queensland, where he completed his specialist Radiology training. This was followed by Interventional and Neurointerventional Radiology fellowships at Royal Brisbane, Royal Melbourne and Gold Coast University Hospitals. Dr Whitley divides his time between Body and Neuro Intervention at St George, Prince of Wales and Liverpool Hospitals.

Advancing RCC Cryoablation (Boston Scientific)

Workshop details:

An introductory workshop designed to educate on the principles of cryoablation. From patient selection and case planning, through reimbursement and accreditation, with case studies summarizing optimal patient outcomes and hands-on training to outline and refine technique in a non-pressured environment.

Learning objectives:

  • Indications for use (Kidney, Liver, Lung, Pain Cryoneurolysis, Bone, MSK, Breast)

  • RCC Case planning example: Alternate imaging program case planning summary

  • Cryoablation HCP training accreditation program

  • Cryoablation hands on session with real kidney and live freeze/thaw

Dr Glen Schlaphoff is an experienced Interventional Radiologist and has been a Senior Staff Specialist in Liverpool Hospital since 2001. He has been the HOD of Radiology since 2005 to 2015 and involved with the redevelopment of Liverpool Hospital. During this redevelopment, he was involved in redesigning the Radiology department and pioneered the concept of the creation of a Department of Interventional Radiology. He is currently the Head of Department of Interventional Radiology at Liverpool Hospital.

He is a founder partner of Spectrum Medical Imaging, a large high end, sub-specialist private radiology practice with multiple branches in the East and West of Sydney.
