SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

Welcome Function  |  International Antarctic Centre

Monday 5th August

Join us for an unforgettable evening.

From experiencing real Antarctic weather in the -8 degree storm dome to a spin in the Hägglunds all-terrain amphibious Antarctic vehicle this will be a Welcome Function like no other.

Be greeted by huskies on arrival before enjoying a standup dinner and drinks while wandering amongst the penguins and interactive experiences of Antarctica.

It will be like a day trip to Antarctica.......but with mulled wine!

Fun fact: The Christchurch region served as the base for British explorer Robert Falcon Scott’s voyages to the South Pole in the early 20th century, and it currently functions as headquarters for U.S. missions to Antarctica.
